Is the Magic Bullet the most popular infomercial?

Whenever a discussion of infomercials comes up on a blog or message board lots of people always say that the infomercial for The Magic Bullet is their favorite infomercial of all time. Many people even claimed to have watched it dozens or hundred of times!

The Magic Bullet blender/mixer is different than other infomercials because it has a script and characters, namely Mick and Mimi (the hosts), Hazel, Berman, Ike, Fred, Wilma, (yes, Fred and Wilma) and a blonde who goes unnamed.

Hazel and Berman seem to be everyone’s favorite character. This blog mentions how hilarious chain-smoking Hazel from Magic Bullet is (also see Magic Bullet here).

The “Grow a Brain” blog also mentions Hazel from the Magic Bullet infomercial and her smoking ways.

Blogger Matt Casey includes some video of the Magic Bullet, which he calls his “favorite infomercial of all time.” (This post about the Magic Bullet is also cited here.)

Someone on the Wonderland forum give a link to the Magic Bullet, causing the forum users to trade some of their favorite quotes from the infomercial. (”Come on, Mimi! Every single day?”)

On the Theme Park Review forum, after someone complained about all the infomercials on late night TV, someone else suggested that the Magic Bullet infomercial is always fun to watch.

Read this post about the blonde on the Magic Bullet infomercial who is amazed at everything and looks like she’s trying to be Mimi’s twin.

Extenze Infomercial: I can hardly believe they show it on TV!

Late nights on the Spike TV cable network are dominated by two infomercials: Girls Gone Wild and Extenze.

The Extenze infomercial is the funnier one. Extenze are pill that are supposed to make a man’s penis grow larger. They never say the word “penis” and they just say they sell “male enhancement” pills.

The first version of the Extenze infomercial starred porn star Ron Jeremy interviewing porn stars. (Ron Jeremy later endorsed a product called VigRX, so it’s hard to know which product he really recommends.)

I suspect that people who like porno movies would prefer the Ron Jeremy version of the Extenze infomercial.

Now there is a different version of the Extenze infomercial being broadcast. It is hosted by a model/actress named Bridgetta Tomarchio and some guy named Frank. Watch this video of the new Extenze infomercial.

The hostess Bridgetta does not give her last name on the Extenze infomercial, which prompted a lot of people to try to figure out the identity of the Extenze girl. And even speculate if the new Extenze hostess was a porn star because the older Extenze infomercial featured porn stars Kim Chambers, Scott Styles, Ruby, and Chantz Fortune.

Here’s a blog that claims the Extenze infomercial is a “total crock of shit” and “the funniest infomercial I have ever seen.”

Infomercial Talk on Blogs and Forums

Welcome to my new blog. This blog is written by an infomercial watching fanatic for other infomercial fanatics. If you’ve ever lost sleep because you were too busy watching late night infomercials or if you’ve ever thought an infomercial was better programing than most of the other things on TV, then this is the place for you!

A couple of sites I would recommend for people like us would be the Ridiculous Infomercial Review (the getrichslowlyblog has a very good post about The Ridiculous Infomercial Review) and Advertising archives at growabrain.

I love watching TV infomercials and I also love it when people write about the subject of their favorite infomercials.

On the Treadless T-Shirt blog, they asked if anyone had ever bought an infomercial product. People chimed in with everything from Jack LaLanne Power Juicer to Girls Gone Wild to Magic Bullet to the Clapper.

The blogger at The Stife Life lists some of his favorite Crazy Infomercials including Dr Ho, Rejuvenique, and Santo Gold.

You never know when infomercials might get mentioned. On a Team Marine Depot blog post about fish aquariums, infomercials get mentioned when they want to emphasize how great their deals are by using that cliche infomercial phrase, “But wait … there’s more!”
